Salted, unsalted and other butter shapes
Salted and unsalted butter weigh the same; salted contains about ¼ tsp salt per stick, so reduce added salt by that much if you swap. West-coast US “Western-style” sticks are short and fat but still 113 g. A 250 g European block is 2.2 sticks, and a British 250 g pack marked in 25 g sections makes metric recipes easy.
Melted butter measures the same by weight but slightly less by volume, because solid butter traps air. Weigh it before melting.
